History Of Dry Cleaning

Drycleaning uses a chemical solvent rather than water to clean delicate clothes and textiles.

The technique was accidentally discovered in 1825 by Jean-Baptiste Jolly when he knocked a lamp over spilling spirits of turpentine onto the tablecloth. When the cloth dried he noticed that area was cleaner. Jean-Baptiste knew he was onto a winner and partnered with his son-in-law to start his dry cleaning business.

We've come a long way since then and there have been a lot of technological advances in the process. At Pearls we are proud to be on the cutting-edge, using the latest products and machines to give you the best results.
