Established in late 2007, Cupcake Avenue is a family run business that specialises in creative cupcakes, as well as bespoke cakes for special events such as weddings and promotions.

The idea was born out of founder Alpa Patel’s love for creative cooking and with a little help from her husband and the desire to spend more time at home with her two young children.

Although Cupcake Avenue are best known for their beautiful looking and delicious tasting cupcakes, each with their own special name such as Rocky Marsh and Honey Comb Crunch, Cupcake Avenue are also in demand to produce specialised cakes. Cupcake Avenue are putting a creative twist into the traditional 3-tier wedding cake by complimenting their creations with flowers, cupcakes and delicate touches that add to their uniqueness and great taste.

Customers are also encouraged to send in pictures of their desired cake – whether it’s for a wedding, birthday or other event – and Cupcake Avenue will replicate creations for you. Friendly and approachable, Cupcake Avenue are happy to discuss any ideas you may have in order to turn these into a reality. They also take into consideration dietary requirements and bespoke flavours. Cupcake Avenue currently supplies their cakes to wedding planning and promotional companies, as well as directly to their customers.

During the 80's and 90's I had been living on and off in New York. While visiting a friend in Brooklyn Heights I noticed a very cute card shop which also sold coffee and cakes. I just love the concept and this planted a seed.

I work in the television industry as a prop buyer and have worked continuously up until this current recession which has effected every aspect of television production, which has resulted in huge cut backs. So after 15 years of dreaming it seemed like the appropriate time to put my idea into motion and The Village Trading Store opened its doors on the 12th December 2009.

I had moved to Acton six years ago during which time I had my little girl Liberty. It became very apparent going to nursery and school that there was a big gap in the immediate shopping area, which suited my idea

The Village Trading Store offers a cross section of new gifts. homeware, lighting, furniture ,a few antiques and an up market second hand clothes agency for lady's, gents and children. While of course you can sit down and enjoy your surroundings having a cup of coffee and a pastry.

Its been wonderful seeing the idea come to fruition and the response has been incredible. The local mums have embraced the second hand clothes section, trading there nearly new or fashion mistakes and finding some real bargains.

The collections grows almost daily. with new things arriving all the time. I have just received a fabulous new range of modern chandeliers with wine glasses and bottles from Holland starting at £59.99.

Come in for coffee and you may find something for your set or even a Valentine card and gift for your beloved. We have WiFi and delicious pastries .
